Iā€™ve always been creative, but always as a hobby, a way to unwind. Sewing provided additional income while my girls were small and always when I was shopping for fabric I would say I really like this but I would do this instead of thatā€¦.but I always wondered how the design came to beā€¦.and just thought I will never have the opportunity or money to become a professional designer. But Iā€™m nearing my retirement years and so much has changed for someone who grew up in the analog world. And I have constantly been learning new things regarding the digital world and surface pattern design is something I have become very passionate about. I want to know everything at once and Iā€™m having to slow down a bit and learn my basics firstā€¦like getting around in Adobe Illustratorā€¦every day, I try something new and work on what I learned yesterday. I feel like Iā€™ve found myself again and I seriously want to make a go of this and Iā€™m definitely going to put in the work and the effort it requires.
